Instructor of Robotics and Programming Lessons for Children - Saturday Course (Students/ Educational Workers/ Freelancers)

We are looking for a Dutch-speaking instructor to teach robotics classes to children aged 6-12 in Amsterdam on Saturdays. Experience teaching children robotics and programming is highly desired, and technical skills are important. In our robotics classes we use LEGO SPIKE sets and block-based programming. Fluent Dutch is required, as classes are taught in Dutch.

Students, teaching assistants and freelancers can all apply.

Job Description:

  • Teach engaging robotics lessons to children ages 6 to 12 using LEGO SPIKE sets based on LEGO Education teaching materials and instructions.

  • Guide children in building and programming their own robots in a creative and supportive environment.

  • Keep children motivated and engaged, facilitate playtime with LEGO and organize group activities.

  • Classes last 90 minutes, children work in pairs and build a new robot each session.

Prerequisites:

  • Experience working with children, preferably teaching programming or robotics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable with basic engineering concepts (such as math, logic) and LEGO building sets.

  • Fluent Dutch.

  • Basic technical knowledge is important as we use visual programming with blocks. You must be able to understand basic logic (you do not need to be a programmer).

  • Ability to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).

  • Preferred: current or completed degree in pedagogy, science or technology.

Job Details:

  • Saturdays during the school year, with no classes during school vacations.

  • Time: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm.

  • Location: Beethovenplein 2, 1077 WM Amsterdam.
