What parents and children say about our robot classes
Experience the world of robotics
At Brick&Robots, children dive into the fascinating world of modern technologies, where they not only learn to code, but also build their own robots.
Our LEGO robotics lessons challenge logical, systematic and spatial thinking while providing a creative and engaging experience.
Working with a variety of components, our approach promotes not only fine motor skills, but also the development of neural connections for a solid foundation in technology and creativity.
A unique learning path
At Brick&Robots, we are all about hands-on experience. We spend 80% of our time building and programming robots hands-on, with only 20% focus on theoretical concepts.
For children, we use visual block-based coding, based on the Sketch programming language.
Each class offers new challenges and stimulates creativity, while teamwork is an integral part of our program.
Robotics offers your child comprehensive development!
With us, children work in pairs and develop invaluable teamwork skills. In practice, they learn not only how to set and distribute tasks, but also how to defend their positions, take responsibility and embrace mistakes as learning opportunities.
What do our classes look like?
Each lesson lasts 90 minutes and has three parts: theoretical knowledge, design and programming. The children work in teams to build a LEGO robot and write a program to bring it to life! Our curriculum is divided into 6-9 week courses for different age groups, with weekly classes and breaks during school vacations.

FAQs
-
We offer courses for children between the ages of 6 and 12. Currently, our program focuses on children ages 6-10 with LEGO® SPIKE™ Essential. We will soon expand to include classes for children ages 10-12, working with LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime robotics sets.
-
We have had some children who were almost six, and even for them the course proved quite challenging. In our classes, we work with LEGO® robotics sets and teach programming with blocks on Apple iPads. Both are kid-friendly, but still require some basic skills. In addition, the children work in pairs, which encourages cooperation. Our advice is to wait a while and try the course when your child is six years old or almost six.
-
No, there are no specific requirements. Our courses are designed for children of all levels, whether they are new to robotics and coding or already experienced.
-
Each course lasts 6-8 weeks, with weekly 90-minute lessons.
-
Children can build different types of robots, ranging from simple vehicles to more complex mechanical constructions, depending on their age and skill level. From simple merry-go-rounds and single-motor swings to more advanced minibuses and cabs with a color sensor, light matrix and even a gyroscope. Check out our Photos and Videos page on the website and our Instagram for more examples!
-
No worries! Our courses are suitable for beginners and we offer a step-by-step approach to familiarize children with the basics of robotics and coding.
-
In our weekly robotics classes, each lesson is carefully constructed. We gradually build up not only the complexity of the robots created, but also the excitement and teamwork in the lessons. That's why we don't offer individual trial lessons. Instead, we work with a two-week trial period. If you cancel before the third lesson, you will be refunded the money for the remaining lessons within a few days. This way you do not run any risk if your child finds the activity a little too exciting.
-
Please contact us by providing your child's age and desired day and time. We will do our best and possibly form another group if we receive similar requests.
-
Classes are for children, but we also offer a variety of workshops. Contact us for more information.
-
We are just getting started and hope to expand soon. If you would like classes in your town, please let us know and we will add you to the waiting list.
-
Our courses are taught in Dutch and English. Most classes are in Dutch, but we also offer full English tutoring. Children can participate in the language in which they feel most comfortable. Check out our available courses to see what languages, time slots and levels they are offered in.
-
Advanced level is for children who already have experience with LEGO® robotics, for example through previous classes with us or elsewhere (other schools, courses or clubs). Children who have completed our basic course can expand their knowledge here.
-
In the basic course, children use pictograms and icons for visual programming, so no special reading skills are required. In the advanced classes, students begin word-based visual programming (based on Scratch). Don't worry if your child is not yet a strong reader! They just need to recognize simple phrases, such as "start engine" or "when the color is," something most children 6+ pick up easily.
-
We work exclusively with high-quality, original LEGO® SPIKE™ robotics kits and Apple iPads for programming. All necessary materials are provided by us, you do not need to bring anything to class.
-
In our course, children learn to program with visual blocks, such as icons and icons, which is ideal for beginners. In more advanced classes, we move to word-based visual programming, similar to Scratch. These methods help kids understand the basics of programming in a playful way, without having to read or write complicated code.
-
We welcome all children, but we recommend thinking carefully first about whether the course is suitable for your child. Our teachers have no special training in guiding children with special needs, and the children work in pairs, which requires cooperation. It is important that a child feels comfortable in a social setting and is open to working with others, as is the case in regular school classes. If you have any doubts, please feel free to contact us to discuss whether the course is appropriate for your child.
